Valentine’s Day is almost here! It’s the perfect opportunity to let someone know you care about them with flowers. Flowers are full of life and evoke the senses. Fragrance, color, texture and natural beauty immediately initiate happiness and a sense of excitement. Here are a few tips and hints that will make your flower ordering easy and perfectly say how much you care.
Order Before The Valentine’s Day Rush
Order early! This allows you to have better selection and save money. Waiting until the day before or day of can mean sacrificing what you really want for what is presently available. Flowers are in such high demand you cannot always guarantee your first choice will still be there. Ordering early can save you money on the delivery fee. Some flower shops will give you a discount on your arrangement or even offer free delivery for placing your order ahead of time. Be sure to ask if you can get free or discounted delivery for sending out your flowers a day or two early. Since Valentine’s Day is on a Saturday, it’s the perfect year to send the arrangement early to your loved ones work place. It is always exciting to have your coworkers oooing and ahhhing over how thoughtful your significant other is.
Think Outside The Box
Roses are not your only option for Valentine’s Day. Order a beautiful garden mix with some roses and flowers that are in season. High demand= higher prices. Since all flower prices are inflated over valentines week, a garden mix can offer you more bang for your buck than just a dozen roses. It’s a good opportunity to be thoughtful with specific flower choices or colors. Mix roses with your sweethearts favorite flowers like tulips and daisies.
Support Local Florists
Order locally and not through online services. Ordering online can be the biggest misuse of your Valentine’s Day budget. The arrangements look full and beautiful in the picture but can end up being a disappointment when received. If you order directly from a local florist, there isn’t a third party taking a cut. All the money goes where it should… to beautiful, fresh flowers and not online wire fees. Plus, speaking with an actual florist allows you to let them use their creativity and expertise to come up with an arrangement that is stunning and unique for the one you love.
Always Leave A Note
Take advantage of your card message. Even though the flowers rightfully take the spotlight, the card message can mean just as much. Those thoughtful words can linger on even when the flowers have faded. Taking every opportunity to personalize your gift will make it mean that much more.
xoxo,
Stacey
