Exploring some of the hidden gems of wedding venues in Los Angeles
As someone originally from the Midwest, one of my favorite parts of living in Los Angeles is the variety. You can drive 2 hours in either direction and end up in a completely different environment. The bustling city, the desert, the beach, the secluded mountains or a vineyard are all easily accessible. Every couple can find the atmosphere that fits them best to say “I Do”. I could write an entire book on wedding venues, however below are a few of the most unique wedding venues in Los Angeles.

The Unique Space LA
First venue on the list has it right in the name! The Unique Space LA is located downtown and is an industrial loft turned wedding venue. The back patio offers a stunning view in the heart of DTLA. Amazing wall paper and mural designs give couples endless backdrops for photos, but the space still feels open and neutral enough to allow couples to customize it. We’ve had some really amazing events here like this one this past summer.
The Grass Room/Valentine
Located in downtown Los Angeles, The Grass Room shares space with another unique wedding venue, Valentine. This spacious warehouse has been completely remodeled for events with hints of the building’s history. According to their website, at one point, this building was used as a fish market! Their namesake is due to the incredible greenhouse styled glass ceiling covering the courtyard and the even more amazing collection of greenery around the entire venue. It’s truly a hidden secret in DTLA, in an unlikely location, but it’s so beautiful once you get inside. It’s as close as you can get to the great outdoors in the big city! Other unique wedding venues in Los Angeles part of the same company as The Grass Room and Valentine are Millwick, Flora Chang and Smog Shoppe.
Los Angeles Union Station
All aboard you train lovers! If you’ve ever dreamed of having a classic Hallmark rom-com kiss in a train station, you can do so by having your wedding at the Los Angeles Union Station. Union Station is nothing short of a stunning piece of architecture with captivating tile work, couples can choose what area they’d like to say their vows from the ticket concourse to the patio, etc. Few things truly say Los Angeles like the Union Station.

Natural History Museum
One of my favorite weddings was a New Years Eve wedding I planned at The Natural History Museum. The museum is such a fun space to host a wedding because it’s just a beautiful space and will shock your guests.I mean who doesn’t want a elephant backdrop for your first kiss. Safari vibes anyone?! Even being surrounded by different displays, couples can still make this space their own. If you’re looking for something to entertain guests other than the traditional photo booth station, give them a giant T-Rex!
The Houdini Estate
If you’re looking for some Hollywood history, you have to see The Houdini Estate. Located in Laurel Canyon, this private estate is an expansive property allowing for events of all sizes. The whole property has beautiful gardens, quirky sculptures and hidden surprises in every corner. Couples are allowed to stay overnight in the estate if you don’t mind the rumors that the estate is haunted!
City Libre
Last but not least, I have to mention City Libre. Located on the east side of LA, this is such a cool space that gave me serious New Mexico vibes. I attended an event here last year and was in love with the mix of industrial and modern looks. The view is absolutely stunning and a great option for an outdoor wedding.
Los Angeles offers so many incredible wedding venues that I could easily list more! Again, this is just one of the many reasons I truly love living in this amazing city. For all you couples looking for something a little different, I hope this list helped you find your dream venue!
