A Weekend Wedding in the Woods

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Even though today is the universal day of love, I’m so lucky to have a job that celebrates love every single day! Helping my clients bring their dream-wedding to life is just the best feeling. So in honor of V-day, I wanted to share this summer camp themed wedding of Meredith + Henry from last year. With Meredith + Henry’s vision of getting married in the woods, I immediately jumped on board. It was so much fun to plan and you have to see Henry’s reaction to Meredith walking down the aisle. It’ll melt your heart!

It’s so hard for me to decide which element of this camp wedding was my favorite because it’s all so good. Guests arrived early on Friday and were assigned a cabin for the weekend. This gave everyone time to hang out throughout the day playing games, adventuring and lounging by the pool before they had a Welcome BBQ that night.

A piece of bohemian bliss in the middle of the woods

The ceremony was tucked under a cove of tall trees with guests seated on benches and a mix of bohemian rugs down the aisle. Meredith + Henry wanted the ceremony to have a secluded, intimate and natural feel. When getting married in a forest, not much is needed. The design was simple with a few some beautiful details with florals. The “V” shaped wooden ceremony arch was made by Henry himself and draped with the most amazing flowers and pampas grass courtesy of Instyle Blooms. It added such a special moment to the forest.

Their reception was in front of a large cabin (aka, the mess hall) and guests sat at long picnic tables with customized ceramic mugs at each place setting that said, “Camp Hausen”. The bride also hand painted table numbers on wood stumps for each table and made all the mini table menus along with the clipboard seating chart. I love when my couple’s are crafty and so talented! The sweetheart table was a sight to behold with a yarn weaved dreamcatcher backdrop (done by Meredith herself). And of course, no summer camp themed wedding is complete without a fire pit and s’mores bar.

The whole event was a fun throw back and literally a breath of fresh air. Congrats Meredith + Henry! Thanks for bringing us along to be a part of your big day and camping in the woods with your family and friends!
