Celebrating A Sweet Tanzania Love With A Summer Wedding

From the moment I met Kim + Edward, I knew this was going to be a fun journey planning their big summer wedding day! It was evident from the beginning how sweet, caring and special their love was. Throughout the planning process, I worked closely with Kim’s mom, Wendy, because Kim and Edward live in Tanzania. Edward runs a Safari tour company. (Trip to Tanzania anyone?!). And Kim is the founder and managing director of The Knock Foundation,a great organization that partners with underserved communities in developing countries. They provide access to education, healthy living practices and a clean environment.

Kim first met Edward when she went to Tanzania to volunteer in a medical clinic. Edward was a local volunteer, as his mom worked for the organization. Coincidentally, the night she flew in, Edward accompanied the program’s driver to the airport to pick up the group she was with. Kim met Edward at the airport the moment she touched down! 11 years later, they celebrated their love with a summer wedding at the beautiful Triunfo Creek Vineyards.

“Adventure Awaits”

This phrase was perfectly placed on the invitations and also at the welcome table as guests arrived. Little did the guests know that they were definitely in for an adventure! Despite it being one of the hottest days that summer, it also rained on all the guests during dinner. However, the rain didn’t bother Kim + Edward or their guests. Instead of serving dinner at that moment, people started dancing in the rain and it was a perfect impromptu dance party filled with joy. (For another fun rain story, go to this post!)

Forever Grateful

I couldn’t have asked for kinder souls to give me the opportunity to walk this special season of life with them. It truly was one of the most love filled weddings I have ever been a part of. I remember watching Kim, Edward and Kim’s parents sitting next to the empty dance floor after everyone had left just soaking it all in together. I teared up in that moment because I knew that all the decisions we made led to this exact moment. What a beautiful memory to hold onto forever!
