3 Ways to Get The Groom Ready for His Wedding Day

Grooming the groom

Looking and feeling radiant on your wedding day is not limited to the bride. Planning a wedding can be hectic and it’s easy for the groom to forget that he also needs to practice self-care. It’s imperative if he wants to look and feel his best on the special day. Below are 3 ways to get the groom ready for his wedding day and be well groomed at the altar.

If you don’t have a regular barber, ask your friends who they’d recommend. When it comes to your wedding day, you don’t want to leave your hair to someone you don’t fully trust. If you plan to completely change your haircut, there are many online resources that help you find the style that works best with your face shape. Do a dry run a few months before the wedding; if the new haircut doesn’t work for you, you want some time to let it grow in before the big day. Provide pictures of the hairstyle you want, even if you go to a barber you’ve been to before.

Practice a Skin Care Routine

Washing and moisturizing your face daily with appropriate grooming products will do wonders on your complexion. Even before you’ve set a wedding date, wash your face in the morning with a nourishing face wash that doesn’t contain harsh chemicals. Use warm water if you plan to shave, since it opens up pores and softens hair follicles, allowing for a closer shave. Then apply a lotion specifically made for faces, as typical body lotion can leave your face too oily and cause breakouts. By the time your wedding day finally comes, your skin will look healthy and rejuvenated.

Go to the Spa

Spas aren’t just for women! In the days leading up to your wedding day, it’s important to put aside some additional time for self-pampering. Not only will you feel better, it may help alleviate some of the stress of preparing. Find a spa that provides manicures for men, since your hands will likely be featured in at least one photo. You definitely don’t want dirty nails to distract from your new wedding band. While you’re there, ask about getting your eyebrows done. While you certainly don’t want unnatural looking eyebrows, many spas offer services to men and will make sure your eyebrows look tidy. In addition to helping you clean up, some spas also offer massages. Surprising your partner with a couple massage will make both of you feel a lot more rested on your big day.

Practicing self-care long before the wedding will make grooming yourself on your big day much easier. Your wedding should be filled with joy and laughter. Planning ahead will allow you to focus on having fun and making it a day you will remember fondly for the rest of your life.
