Acing The Love Story
I’ve known Allie for the past 5 years, so when she asked me to help plan her wedding at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs, I was so excited! It’s one of my greatest joys to help friends plan their big day and walk alongside them in that journey. Allie and Kev met each other at work (sort of). Allie caught Kevin’s eye in the main lobby of their shared office building. After a few months of seeing her almost every day, Kevin finally got the courage to ask Allie out on a date. So one morning, he waited for her to arrive, just so they could ride the escalator together, giving him a chance to ask her out! A couple years later, they decided on the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs to say “I do!”.

Hosting a wedding at the Ace Hotel is an amazing experience because all of the catering and rentals are in house. Talk about a one-stop shop venue! It’s even convenient for friends and family, as most of the rooms are close to the venue. This is especially helpful for getting ready and other wedding photos. In fact, Allie’s bridal suite was next door to the ceremony space so she could stay hidden up to the moment she walked down the aisle. The ceremony was held outside on the grass and afterwards, guests enjoyed cocktail hour by the pool while the open glass doors showcased the beautiful reception inside.
Decor
We kept decor simple for Allie and Kev. They wanted it to look chic but not too trendy or “wedding like”. They made it feel fun and inviting, while keeping it classy with black and white paper goods and metallic accents. One of the coolest things they incorporated was a Japanese tradition and assembled a 1,000 paper cranes to hang from the ceiling above the head table. It really added to the personal touch of the wedding.
The Ace Hotel may be a hip spot in Palm Springs, but it’s one of my favorites for weddings and I think you’ll love it too.
