A Labor Day Wedding at Sogno Del Fiore

Celebrating love at a Santa Ynez winery

I’m so excited to share this event not only because it was a dream to work a wedding at Sogno del Fiore, (Fun fact: the word “Sogno” actually means “dream” in Italian!) but because it was also for two of my closest friends, Alana and Josh. I was so honored they asked for my help to plan their big day after they got engaged on a trip to Mexico. Because of Alana and Josh’s love of wine (and mine which also fit so well), having their wedding at Sogno del Fiore in Santa Ynez was the perfect fit.

The décor was the epitome of chic, using the classic combination of black and white with hints of gold. We kept the floral arrangements monochromatic with various white flowers that another friend of ours, Stacey, with her own floral business, designed and created. Sometimes, simplicity is the best choice! Guests sipped on champagne and wine in stunning gold-rimmed glasses while waiting for the ceremony to begin and I love when guests are greeted with champagne when they step right off the bus. I loved Alana’s dress that featured a short sleeve lace cover that she wore during the ceremony and swapped it out for a crystal-covered shawl at the reception. The only bride I know to drink a large glass of red wine before the reception started and not even care if it spilled. (It didn’t but I loved how care free she was!)

Cookies + Shots of Milk Anyone?

As someone with a sweet tooth, I really enjoyed the donut display we created in lieu of a cake table. It added a fresh burst of color to the decor! Another fun dessert element was as a late night snack, guests were offered freshly baked chocolate chip cookies with shots of milk to fuel them for more dancing. Such a fun idea for a late night snack and a unique way to do desserts. I loved helping to plan a wedding where 20 of my closest friends were a part of!

Huge congrats to Alana + Josh! I’m the luckiest to have friends like you both! Thanks for bringing me along to be a part of the planning process and all the wine and beer tastings that “had to happen” prior to the big day! You guys are the best!
