The Most Stunning Indian Wedding in San Pedro

A Traditional Indian Wedding Celebration

I love all the weddings I get to be a part of, but sometimes a wedding comes along that makes me want to post the entire album. That’s the wedding of Kiran + Varun! It was a daylong celebration with stunning details at every turn. They wanted to honor their heritage by having a traditional Indian wedding with multiple ceremonial events including a baraat (groom’s procession), sikh ceremony, a Hindu wedding ceremony and a reception. You may even recognize a few faces in the photos, because I met Kiran + Varun through Varun’s sister, whose wedding I helped planned a year ago, Vish +Matt! (You can check out Vish and Matt’s wedding here). I was so excited to help this family celebrate another wedding!

The Celebration

One thing I love the most about Indian weddings are the beautiful colors used. The Hindu wedding ceremony took place outside at the Plaza Cabrillo Marina with stunning red florals draping the arch. We set red parasols on guests’ chairs for shade and the wedding party wore traditional Indian attire. The reception was inside a ballroom at the DoubleTree hotel and it was decorated to perfection. The arch florals from ceremony were repurposed into a hanging installation above a lounge with an emerald couch and small clear hanging bulbs. The reception centerpieces alternated between wreaths of greenery and the same deep, rich red flowers used during the ceremony. There were so many amazing and talented vendors that helped make this day possible and that helped bring their vision to life. The reception was so fun to witness so many traditional dances and performances and let me tell you, Indian weddings are a blast! They sure know how to party and have a good time!
