This Historic Boutique Hotel Cannot Be Missed

If you’re newly engaged and on the hunt for your perfect venue, look no further than The Hotel Figueroa. I recently had the pleasure of touring this newly renovated gem of a hotel and let me tell you, it’s a must-see. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, The Hotel Figueroa originally opened in 1926 as a space for troubled women to find refuge. In fact, this hotel has a long history of women empowerment. For example, it’s believed the original hotel manager, Maude Bouldin, was the first female to have that job title. To this day, they even have an art gallery featuring all female artists.

Now, this hotel is re-opening its doors after years of updates and sharing it’s rich history with everyone. If you’re in love with the DTLA life then having your wedding, welcome dinner, birthday party, or corporate retreat at the Hotel Figueroa is the perfect place. There are multiple locations within the hotel for your event, each with a unique style and the perfect shots to take for the gram.

Gran Sala

Hotel Figueroa Wedding venue, Gran Sala ballroom

The first event space available at The Hotel Figueroa is the Gan Sala ballroom. The Gran Sala  has the most incredible French doors and arched windows that allow natural light to pour in. One of my favorite features is the original fireplace from the 1920’s that adds so much warmth to the space. Instead of a stereotypical stuffy-ballroom, The Gran Sala is a glamorous but inviting room that will take everyone’s breath away.

Tangier

While most of the hotel keeps to a colonial Spanish feel, the Tangier room maintained a Moroccan inspiration from a previous design of the hotel. A spacious room, it can accommodate 200 guests (100 seated) and is a great spot for a dance party with its own DJ booth built in.

Terrazza

Hotel Figueroa DTLA Wedding venue

Featuring an incredible view of the DTLA skyline, this outdoor space is ideal for an intimate ceremony or a cocktail hour for up to 100 guests. Talk about a way to wow your guests!

Rick’s (Upper Level)

This bar lounge features a mid-century tropical vibe with bamboo furniture and a calming fountain. This is a great place for a wedding welcome party as guests take in the amazing lights of the city.

Casbah in Bar Alta

Hotel Figueroa DTLA Wedding venue, Casbah speakeasy

If you’ve ever wanted to go to a speakeasy, The Casbah in Bar Alta is it. As a nod to the Prohibition era, this private room has a secret entrance through a wooden bookcase. The Casbah can host up to 50 people and would be so much fun for post-rehearsal cocktails! By the way, if you started singing “Rock The Casbah”, let’s be friends.

Accommodations

Another incredible part about having your wedding at the Hotel Figueroa, is that you can have all your guests stay within the hotel as well. With over 250 rooms available, there are even large suites for the bride and groom to get ready in. Each room has luxurious bedding and the most beautiful bathrooms. And some of the artwork that you see around like the doors to the elevators are all done by local artists. Seriously, this tile work deserves an award!

Thanks to the Hotel Figueroa for letting me tour this incredibly beautiful piece of Los Angeles architecture!
