Saying, “I Do” with an Ocean View Wedding

Happy August, friends! I wanted to share this cute local wedding with you from back in January that took place right near the water. Hilary + Collin found such a unique venue with a major wow factor at the Redondo Beach Historic Library. Even though the building is no longer used as a library, it still maintains so much heritage and charm from when it first opened and you can’t beat the ocean view wedding ceremony at this venue.

Sunset Vows

Because the ceremony was held on the lawn outside of the library overseeing the ocean, shawls were provided to keeps guests warm. The scenery spoke for itself, so we used bundles of greenery along the chuppah and aisle to keep the design simple. The bridesmaids wore mismatching dresses in hues of green, blue, greys and blush pink to add a splash of color. I absolutely love the different mix of styles for bridesmaids! To add to the beauty of the day, guests watched Hilary + Collin say their vows just as the sun was beginning to set in the sky. It was such a beautiful moment. There’s something really special about ceremonies facing the water (like this San Pedro wedding I did last year). It adds such a calming presence to the day.

For the reception, guests moved inside the library for dinner and dancing. We used a vintage library filing system to alphabetize the escort cards and I love how it turned out. One of the best parts of the reception was the dessert table with a variety of chocolate dipped goodies and candy for guests. I love when couples add in different dessert ideas! I’ll be sharing a list of different desserts for weddings soon, so stay tuned.
