You won’t believe this intimate vineyard wedding in Santa Ynez was actually the backup plan!
As we all know, sometimes things just don’t go as planned. My beautiful couple, Kaitlyn + Chester originally planned to get married in the Malibu hills at Calamigos Ranch. They were originally supposed to marry in May, postponed to September and then decided a big wedding still wasn’t possible. So they cancelled their original plans, invited just 20 people and moved to a winery smaller celebration. Kaitlyn + Chester have been together for 7 years, and knew no matter what, they wanted this year to be the year they were wed! And dare I say, this intimate vineyard wedding will knock you off your feet.
Dreamy Design + A Stunning Sunset
Roblar Winery was such a beautiful venue with incredible views, especially during sunset. Kaitlyn + Chester had their ceremony under a few of the larger trees on the winery, in front of the vineyard. The backdrop was so beautiful that instead of an arch, we used two wine barrels with large floral arrangements. And because the guest list was small, we had one row of chairs for all the guests and marked the aisle with flowers attached to the chairs. We then repurposed the flowers to the outdoor reception area where guests dined under market lights.
One tip I always tell my couples is to ensure you have a way to indicate to the catering staff the meal the guest has requested at dinner. Kaitlyn + Chester came up with such a clever way that actually helped their vineyard wedding décor. Each guest had a place card attached to a cork. If the cork was wine stained, it meant the guest requested short ribs, and if the cork was clean, it meant the guest wanted salmon. How fun is that?
Covid Wedding Safety Protocols
