5 Must Haves For Your Wedding Day

Top 5 Must Haves For Your Big Day

Welcome back, Friends! We are back with another one of my famous tips + tricks guides that I love so much. The days of stressing about your wedding planning are a thing of the past. Preparing for your wedding day can be a demanding process but, with some stability, I trust you can handle it. Below you’ll find some crucial ideas on the must haves for your wedding day. We have your back.

A Wedding Photographer

Capturing your special day should be a priority on your list. With months of planning going into one day, you want to get pictures so you can cherish it forever. Finding a wedding photographer can be a bit tricky as everybody has their own personal preferences. Style, personality, and experience are all major factors that play a key role in choosing the right photographer.

Getting shots of the perfect moment is a skill that not all photographers have. Therefore, it’s important you find the most fitting photographer on your special day. If you loved the experience for your engagement shoot, they may be a great person for your wedding day. That familiarity they have with you and your partner can really spark some beautiful moments. If your experience with your engagement shoot was less than ideal, you know exactly what you want from the person you hire.

Honeymoon Confirmation

a passport is one of the top must haves for your honeymoon

You and your partner have picked out the most dreamy spot to spend the following days after your wedding. To guarantee a stress-free trip, we encourage you to double-check details a week before your wedding day. Booking your honeymoon online makes it easy to check last minute details on your phone from wherever you are. This ensures that you both continue to have a stress-free experience even after your wedding day is over.

With travel restrictions due to the pandemic, make sure you have all of your documents ready for travel. If you plan on traveling abroad, familiarize yourself with the customs of the area you are traveling to. For example, is it appropriate to tip at restaurants, what currency to use, and other regionally specific customs. It is also important to notify your bank of any foreign travels you may be doing so your bank cards can work without problems.

The Right Accessories

Picking out the right accessories can be the last puzzle piece in completing your wedding day outfit. While brides have more to choose from, the groom should have some small complementary touches.

The groom has fewer things to worry about as far as physical accessories that he can wear. Choosing a pair of comfortable shoes that also match the style of your suit is very important. Between dancing the night away and taking dozens of photos with your partner, you want to make sure you aren’t sacrificing either your comfort or style. Some other important considerations: chapstick, a bottle opener for all of your fun beverages, and most importantly your wedding rings.

The bride has a much larger selection which comes with more decisions. When you pick out your dress, selecting the perfect complementing bra should be at the top of your list. Choosing the right amount of coverage, comfort, and support will help any bride feel confident throughout the wedding. In addition, choosing a stylish bag to fit all of your necessities is important. Fill this with essentials for the wedding day like your phone, lip balm, and even some tissues for when your loved ones start making speeches.

A staple item brides and grooms alike should think about is the eyewear they choose for the big day. Many eyeglasses wearers forgo their frames for the sake of picture taking, so considering the alternative to glasses altogether is an important decision to make. Wearing a fresh pair of prescription contact lenses prior to your wedding day can ensure you see the beauty of everything happening around you. Again, if you’re not a big contact wearer, make the purchase 2-3 months ahead of schedule so you can practice wearing them for full days at a time.

An Emergency Kit

an emergency kit is one of the top must haves items for your wedding day

While we hope nothing bad happens to you on your wedding day, preparing for the unexpected is an excellent precautionary step. Things can change in a heartbeat at any given moment, especially on wedding day. Not only will this fix any small issues that could arise on your wedding day, but it will also give you peace of mind. There are many versions of premade emergency kits on the market, but you can make any alterations to fit you and your day specifically. Make it fun and design a kit that will be useful for you and your bridesmaids. A few must haves that we recommend packing in your wedding day emergency kit include:

  • Sewing kit
  • Tide to-go pen
  • Bobby and safety pins
  • Make-up
  • Deodorant
  • Backup pair of eyeglasses

A Wedding Planner

It’s impractical to think you can be everywhere on your wedding day and the last thing you want to worry about is what’s happening behind the scenes. That’s why it may be in your best interest to sit down with your partner and select someone that you trust to place in charge on your wedding day. This person will be the main contact for guests and vendors come wedding day. Having them at your beck and call will allow you to further mitigate and concentrate on what you’re there for, to celebrate your love.
