A Malibu Wedding Welcome Party with A Country Theme

Hello, friends! If you’ve been following me on IG, you may have noticed a big announcement: I’m engaged! I cannot wait to share this journey with all of you and show you how a wedding planner tackles planning their own big day! However, today I’m sharing this wedding welcome party at on of our favorite Malibu spots, Calamigos Guest Ranch and Club House! This party is especially fun for me because it’s country themed! (I mean, with a last name of “Diesel”, how can you not?) As a Midwestern girl, I grew up on country music and so I was very on-board with this theme!
A Fresh Take On A Theme
At first glance, you will notice this welcome party doesn’t read what you may think of when you think “country”. Instead of the rustic décor, bales of hay and barn venue that’s become synonymous with “country”, Sarah + Robert wanted the bright colors to be the main thing guests saw and used the country theme secondary. Therefore, they created creating country music lyric themed signs! Guests were greeted at the venue with a large lyrical welcome sign and boot shaped name tags, and each bar sign also had unique song lyrics added. They even asked guests to wear country western attire! Guests had a blast while eating street tacos, ramen and enjoying the warm welcome ahead of the big wedding day!
If you’re deciding on how much “theme” to add to your wedding day, I suggest going the route of Sarah + Robert! Choosing to have a wedding welcome party with a specific theme is a great way to have big themed presence for a party, then allowing the wedding day to take a subtle approach, or a different feel all together!
