A Traditional Catholic Wedding Combined With A Malibu Reception

Something I love most about being a wedding planner is the opportunity to showcase love in so many ways. It’s important to me to express that no matter what religion, faith, or belief you follow, you are welcome here! I firmly believe that every couple is unique. Therefore, your wedding day should be a reflection of your values + what’s important to you. One question I get a lot, is how to incorporate different traditions and religions. So, when my couple, Rebecca + Chad told me they wanted a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony, I knew exactly how we could help.

Juggling Multiple Venues

Rebecca + Chad chose to say “I do” at Saint Moinca’s Catholic Church, and then have their reception at one of our favorites, Calamigos Ranch. If you’re unfamiliar, a traditional Catholic wedding ceremony program includes a full worship mass, communion, in addition to the Rite of Marriage. Because this can take up to an hour, its vital that time is built properly into the timeline to allow for photos as well as a transition to the reception space. Afterwards, Rebecca + Chad travelled with their wedding party to the pier to take photos. Their color palate of orange, peach, pink, blue and teal was perfect for the beach! Afterwards, everyone gathered at Calamigos Ranch to dance the night away. (Another church ceremony to reception venue transition can be seen during this wedding!)
