A Spiritual Temple Served As The Backdrop for This Sun Themed Wedding
Being a wedding planner in SoCal for almost a decade means I’ve planned a wedding at just about every venue in town. So I was really excited when my beautiful clients, Sashee + Gabriel, chose a new-to-me spiritual temple for their big day. Because not only is the temple awe-inspiring, it has some incredible history too! Originally, the land was used in the 1920’s to house a silent film studio. After decades of development, it was officially made into Lake Shrine in 1950. Nestled by a serene lake, complete with swans and waterfalls, this is a truly remarkable place! For their ceremony, Sashee and Gabriel used the spiritual temple. Afterwards, everyone moved to Saddlerock Ranch for their sun themed wedding reception. Here comes the sun…
Sashee’s mustard yellow sari is truly breathtaking and therefore was the inspiration for the rest of the color palette. So we used orange marigolds as the main flower everywhere including in Sashee’s bouquet. According to a florist online, marigolds “represent the sun, symbolizing brightness and positive energy”. Additionally, because blue is directly across from orange on the color wheel, mixing in blue tones was the perfect combination to add dimension to the design. From soft pale blue linens, to Gabriel’s blue suit jacket, and the blue + gold signage, this wedding design was a colorful masterpiece! (And as you’ve seen, it’s no secret we love colorful weddings here at Feathered Arrow!)
