A FREE downloadable guide to changing your last name after your wedding
Congratulations!! You’ve tied the knot! While you may have made it Facebook official, if you’ve decided to take your partner’s last name, the process to legally change your name can be a bit overwhelming. To help you through the process, I’ve created a FREE DOWNLOADABLE guide of the first 3 most important steps to changing your last name after your wedding!
An Alternative Route
If your busy schedule doesn’t really allow for the above, then for a fee you can invest in a service such as Hitch Switch or Miss Now Mrs to help file the paperwork for you (but be warned, you may still need to stand in a line or two!).
You did it!
You are now officially Mrs. or Mr. [insert new last name here]! Now that you’ve completed the steps above, you can move forward on updating your new name on other documents including:
- Bank accounts, credit/debit cards and checks (don’t forget any accounts that have autopay!)
- The payroll at your work
- Any retirement funds (if any)
- Passport
- Your address with the USPS
- Insurance (healthcare, car, home, etc)
- Email and other social media accounts
I hope you find this guide to changing your last name helpful! Enjoy your happily ever after!
