A Fun, Summer Wedding At The Unique Space (With A Surprise For Guests!)
This past summer, we were back at one of my favorite downtown venue spaces, The Unique Space. Some of the most creative weddings I’ve had the pleasure to work on have been at this venue. So when Erica + Sterling told me they chose to have their wedding at The Unique Space as well, I was so excited!
Even though all the elements of this wedding felt very classic, such as the all white flowers and Erica’s red lip, there was an edge to them as a couple that gave the whole evening a unique, rock feel. All of Erica’s bridesmaids wore mismatching classic black dresses or even jumpsuits! Yes, you read that right! I’ve always loved a classic black bridesmaid dress but I am totally loving this new trend of jumpsuits and two-piece outfits for bridesmaids.
During cocktail hour, guests enjoyed drinks in one of the Unique Space’s outdoor areas, while we turned the ceremony space into reception. Flipping a space from ceremony to reception can be a lot of work but I love seeing the guests’ reactions when they walk back in and see it’s completely transformed.
A Surprise For Guests
For the reception, Erica surprised Sterling with a sleek, red suit jacket and a pair of shoes made for the dance floor. Erica changed into a bridal jumpsuit and the two hit the dance floor with their guests. As a treat for their guests, Erica + Sterling chose two food tucks to serve to their guests. Guests loved these little additional touches from the bride + groom.
