The First Steps to Take Once You Get Engaged + a FREE Downloadable Guide
Congratulations! You’re engaged!!…but, now what? Getting engaged is such an exciting time but it’s often paired with a ton of unanswered questions like, “when’s the big day?” and “can I bring a plus one?” If you’re newly engaged, but feeling a little overwhelmed on where to start in the planning process, I’ve created a free, downloadable engagement tips one sheet with the first 8 steps to take after you say, “yes!” For the first few steps, keep reading below:

Tip 1: Celebrate!
First things first: pop that champagne! This is such a big and exciting chapter for you and your partner and it is so important to take some time to simply be excited and celebrate. Gather your friends and loved ones and throw a party or two enjoy being in love! Soak it all in, friends!
Tip 2: Discuss Your Dream Wedding
My second engagement tip is for couples is to sit down together and discuss your visions of the day. Is there a vibe or theme you want for your big day? Do you envision a casual evening dancing the night away, or an elegant affair under the stars? There will be a lot of opinions from others that may not align with your vision, but this is your day. Having a clear vision on what’s important to the two of you as a couple will help you stay on the right track.

Tip 3: Set A Budget
While discussing your ultimate dream wedding, ask yourselves where the money will be coming from for your wedding. Then decide what items and vendors are most important to you. If design is key, you may want to allocate more budget to rentals and flowers. If you just want your guests to have a blast, hiring a top DJ might be favorable. Whatever it is, list them all out so you know where you’re willing to spend the most money when you start researching.
Tip 4: Hire A Wedding Planner
I may be biased but I promise you, hiring a wedding planner is essential. Part of my job as a wedding planner is to help with the planning process and to make sure you guys stay on track and to help field any questions that arise during the planning process. You don’t want to worry about anything except saying, “I do” and having the best day ever, so let your planner do all the heavy lifting.
