When you imagine your dream wedding, are you only looking at the calendar for Saturday + Sunday dates? What if we told you there was a way you could potentially get married sooner + save some money? Our Lead Associate Planner (and newlywed), Jess Girard, details all the reasons why you should consider a weekday wedding below!
Get Married Sooner

Due to COVID, the wedding weekend dates during the upcoming years of 2021+ 2022 are pretty much all booked due to the influx of weddings having to reschedule from 2019 and early 2020. The same goes for highly popular wedding vendors such as photographers, rental companies, florists, etc. By considering a weekday wedding, you have a higher chance of getting married sooner, rather than later. You also have a higher chance of booking your dream vendors, as their availability is more probable on a weekday.
Save On Wedding Costs

Having a weekday wedding can be much more cost effective. Venues usually offer their spaces at a lower rate during the weekdays, as opposed to the weekends. Wedding vendors may offer a discounted price as well. Freeing up your venue budget can mean you’re able to splurge on other important details. Need help keeping track of the finances? Have A Smaller Guest Count
(With No Guilt!)

Since not all your guests may be able to make your weekday wedding due to work and/or other obligations, your guest count may run a bit smaller…which is perfect for intimate weddings! (For some intimate wedding inspiration, check out Jess’ own micro wedding here!)
Time Is On Your Side

If you can reimagine your big day to a weekday, try being open to changing the time of your wedding too! If a late-weeknight wedding is too off-putting for guests, consider having an afternoon wedding. Or, you can be like this couple who had a brunch wedding on Catalina island! (Pro tip: this is a great option for your wedding day timeline. An afternoon or brunch wedding means all of your photos will be in great light. No need for flash photography here.)
Consider A Major Holiday Date

Try booking long weekend dates such as Memorial Day or Fourth Of July. Guests normally do not have work or other obligations, and in some cases, it may be easier for them to take days surrounding the holiday off as well. For example, a Thursday wedding will allow you more time with loved ones! After the big day, your guests can possibly have Friday to Sunday available to spend with you. And suddenly, your wedding “day” becomes an entire wedding weekend! However, just a quick note that a holiday weekend may not necessarily be a less expensive option, even if it’s on a weekday. (Need holiday wedding inspiration? Check out this New Years Eve wedding we did a few years ago. It was an absolutely blast!)
There you have it, friends! There are so many days in the year to take advantage of; don’t restrict your epic party to just the weekends! Ready to start planning your own weekday wedding? Contact me on my homepage here and let’s chat!
