A Beautiful Wedding Reception (Without The Ceremony!)

Hello, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I was so fortunate to spend my holiday with my family in town last week. It was exactly what my soul needed after this crazy pandemic. Having everyone around for Thanksgiving dinner made me think of a very special seaside wedding reception we recently planned for our clients, Eva + Vince. Like many couples faced with postponement, Eva + Vince decided they didn’t want to wait any longer for their happily ever after and eloped. However, they still wanted to celebrate their nuptials with their closest friends + family with a wedding reception. Once restaurants were cleared to re-opened, Eva + Vince planned to forgo another ceremony in favor of a stress-free wedding reception at one of their favorite spots for seafood.
Planning A Non-Traditional Wedding
Similar to other micro weddings, Eva + Vince had a smaller guest count totaling just under 40 people. Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a cocktail hour and lively music! We had a Vox DJs playing, and even had a guitarist for a portion, because we wanted the wedding energy kept flowing. After a small cocktail hour, guests were seated for dinner where they enjoyed incredible food + toasted the newly married couple. Finally, after desserts, the dance floor opened for everyone to enjoy!
I absolutely love how Eva + Vince celebrated this new chapter of their lives with their guests. It just goes to show that weddings don’t have to be cookie cutter! You don’t have to do the “traditional” ceremony to cocktail hour to reception format. Your wedding day is about you and your partner. Therefore, you should create your wedding exactly how you envision it!
