A Cozy Vineyard Hygge Wedding
You may have heard of the Danish buzzword “hygge” for your home, but have you ever thought of incorporating it into your wedding? For Katherine + Dean, they prioritized having their guests feel cozy + and their big day feel inviting; the very definition of a hygge! When you see the photos below, you’ll subconsciously feel a sense of calm. That’s the magic of a hygge wedding!
How To Hygge
The key to a hygge wedding, is all about comfort + infusing that in every detail. We used a mix of textures like natural wood for their arch and guest chairs + velvet chairs for the sweetheart table to add a cozy feel. Katherine + Dean also offered their guests soft blankets in case the temperatures dropped, which they did! Temecula Creek Inn also offers a beautiful stonehaus on the property that we cozied up by bringing in lounge seating, candles, and flowers so guests could relax in front of the fireplace and warm up. For winter weddings, I also recommend offering guests something warm to drink like cocoa, tea or even a hot toddy! For the color palette, Katherine + Dean stuck to deep reds, blues and gold hues. These deep saturated jewel tones are perfect for keeping the atmosphere calm + inviting. The reception was held outdoors under a mix of soft light composed of stars, market lights + candles at every table.
All of these elements together made guests feel so welcomed. When guests feel relaxed throughout your wedding, it gives them the best opportunity to thoroughly enjoy themselves! Incorporating hygge wedding elements in your big day will be something your guests will talk about for years to come!
