A Mid-Century Wedding Featuring A Surprising Vendor in Ojai

When Kailey + Jonathan told me they wanted to get married at the gem, Capri Hotel, I was beyond excited! I’ve had couples stay there but, this was my first wedding at this quirky venue. Located in the heart of Ojai Valley, the Capri Hotel is truly a desert oasis for those that love mid-century architecture, style and history. 

For their big day, Jonathan wore a dark red velvet suit jacket (red suits are really having a moment) and Kailey wore a modern chiffon wedding dress with a unique bow twist. For their wedding party, Kailey + Jonathan each had one person as their Maid of Honor and Best Man, which is a trend I’ve been seeing a lot of couples do recently. To keep the mid-century vibe, we leaned on moody earth tones throughout the event. Sage green napkins and deep red and orange hues in the flowers accentuated all the marvelous details of the Capri Hotel. The outdoor reception was warm + inviting under market lights and candle light. 

A Surprising Vendor

I love how creative couples are to make their wedding day feel like an extension of their personalities. And I’ve been fortunate enough to work with a large variety of vendors to help make those dreams come true. However, Kailey + Jonathan took it to a whole new level when they hired a tattoo artist! Yes, you read that right! An actual tattoo artist came to their wedding and allowed guests to get inked. I’ve had couples hire vendors for fake tattoos (like this rock ‘n roll wedding), but this was legit. Kailey + Jonathan are no strangers to tattoos, so it was the perfect addition and they even got matching heart tattoos to celebrate their wedding day! It was beyond epic!
