Welcome back, friends! Last week, we shared the engagement photos for our couple, Allie + Matt. And now, I’m excited to give you the details of their bright, tropical inspired wedding in downtown LA! If you’re not quite ready for fall, then this wedding will brighten up your day!

We’ve been fortunate to have multiple weddings at the incredible Valentine this past year! The versatility of the space just goes to show why it’s a favorite among couples (and us!). Even though they’re at the same venue, every wedding looks different. From this jungle disco wedding, this earth toned extravaganza, and this multi-cultural joyous wedding, the possibilities are endless. And I feel that’s the mark of a great venue space; somewhere that allows for your personality as a couple to shine through. You could bring in all the décor, or very minimal décor and it would still be a jaw-dropping experience for your guests.

Tropical Island Vibes Without Traveling

For Allie + Matt, they really leaned into the unique plants available at Valentine and let it inspired their tropical theme. For example, all the monstera, palms and ferns were included in their décor. Color wise, the brighter the better (much like Allie + Matt’s personalities) because we really wanted everything to pop against the greenery. It felt reminiscent of a warm summer day on the beach! All the floral arrangements, including Allie’s bouquet, used subtropical flowers such as bird of paradise, anthurium, and bromeliaceae amongst others. We added bold colorful glassware and rattan plate chargers with a palm leaf underneath each plate to the tables. Matt wore an amazing mauve suit and the wedding party chose their own vividly colored attire.
