History Buffs Will Love This Late Summer Engagement Session

There’s been a lot of talk about the Roman Empire recently and it got me thinking about how much consideration goes into creating these beautiful cities we call home. As a California local, the influence of the Spanish + Mexican colonization is a huge part of what makes this state so unique and amazing. From the buildings, road names, food, etc, the culture is prominent and celebrated here! So, when my couple, Allie + Matt, were looking at places to take their late summer engagement photos, they chose a stunning historic church as their backdrop. From the arches, stucco + brick and sprawling bougainvillea, this location added a romantic, worldly European-vibe to their photos. I love how the photos turned out and it makes me so excited to share their big day!
If you’re planning your own engagement photos, I share a few tips + tricks to a fool-proof session here! There are so many unique options you can chose as amazing backdrops based on where you are (think desert, beach, or city). However, no matter where you live, researching more about your city or state’s history can help inspire you to find beautiful locations for your engagement photos. Just remember to pick something that feels like the two of you. (You can also check out this post to see some more location ideas!)
