The Best Ways To Still Celebrate NYE In The Year of Covid
Oh my goodness friends, we-freaking-did-it! We made it to the end of this insane year. I know this year has had more than its fair share of downs, but can we make a promise to each other to end it on a high note? Even though gatherings are still not permitted in most places, I think there’s a way to salvage your NYE celebration and make it a bang! While looking through this wedding we did on a New Years Eve, I came up with a few suggestions:
Dress Up

The perfect New Year’s Eve was always kind of a mythical creator I tried to chase throughout the years, and so truthfully, I’ve taken the past few NYE easier with sweatpants and popcorn. The reason why this year is different, is because that level of casual has been the majority of our everyday routines lately. This time for NYE, get out your sequins, feathers and suits. Go all out, why not? Even if you don’t have anywhere to go, bring the party to your living room and dress the part.
Drink/Eat Big
Do you have a favorite bottle of wine or champagne that felt too fancy for a larger party? Or a favorite restaurant but catering for a group would be out of budget? This is your year. Treat yourself to some of the finer things you love to eat or drink! Since the likelihood of your NYE party will be smaller this year, the cost won’t feel as much of a burden and it’s a great way to separate NYE evening from other evenings at home.
Zoom The Ball Drop
If there’s been one good thing to come out of this year, it’s been the technology. People are using video chats to connect more and more, and I think NYE should be no exception. Organize a Zoom, FaceTime, Hangout, etc party for New Year’s Eve and count down with everyone! Hire a DJ, if you want or have your friends take turns choosing the song to keep the party going! If you have friends + family in other time zones, even better because you can celebrate multiple times!
Set Intentional Goals
We all learned that things can change on a dime in our world. You may feel hesitant to set your expectations high for this upcoming year but, I am encouraging everyone to look at this new year as an opportunity to set intentional goals. Goals that have action plans behind them, and goals that will help you live the life you want to lead. If you want some ideas and direction on how to get started, check out this post.
I hope these tips help you bring out the best of your NYE party! Thank you to all of my family, friends and wonderful couples + vendor friends for the love and support this past year! The community has grown so much stronger and I cannot wait to hug each and every single one of you! Happy New Year friends!
