A Few Creative + Unique Date Ideas for Valentine’s Day
(Plus A Guide If They Pop The Question!)

Happy February, friends!! The month of love is upon us! I love February and Valentine’s Day. Even the years I was single, I still enjoyed a special holiday dedicated to love and all my amazing girlfriends. After all, helping people celebrate their love is part of my job! To help you celebrate on the 14th, I’ve put together a few creative + unique date ideas for Valentine’s Day.
Try An Adventurous Restaurant

By now, you probably know your significant other’s favorite restaurant and order by heart. While there’s nothing wrong with tried and true, picking a new restaurant adds a bit of excitement to the evening! You can try a speakeasy, a molecular gastronomy restaurant, or even a place where you eat in the dark. The possibilities are endless! Even if you don’t live in a major city, there is a new place out there waiting for you! The experience will be something the two of you will share and can talk about for years.
Check Something Off Your Bucket List

Everyone has a bucket list, or an idea of things they’d like to do “someday”. Instead of the usual, surprise your partner with a really unique date idea for Valentine’s Day while also fulfilling a dream of yours together! Ever want to go rock climbing or skydiving? Even if you live in a climate that doesn’t allow for an outdoor activity, there are plenty of indoor options no matter where you live. Valentine’s Day is the perfect occasion to spoil your loved one with a special gesture.
Flowers + Picnic

You can never go wrong with flowers on Valentine’s Day, but if you’re interested in taking it a step further, why not treat your lover to a picnic at a botanical garden! Luckily in Los Angeles, we have multiple gardens that set the scene for a beautiful, romantic date. If your partner is more of a plant person, try finding a local arboretum so they can learn even more about their green thumb.
Make Something At Home

Let’s face it, sometimes it’s impossible to book anything on Valentine’s Day. If you’re looking for something low key (or budget friendly), consider making something at home. You can bake cookies together or make a new meal together. The key here is to make it a joint experience as part of the date. Additionally, if you use a meal service, plan for something out of your comfort zone to mix things up! It may seem small but often times, those are the moments that stand out the most in your relationship.
I hope these helped spark some creative and unique date ideas for Valentine’s Day this year! If you need helping finding some last minute Valentine’s Day gifts, take a look at my post from last year for some inspiration.
