A Romantic Storybook Themed Wedding That’s A Real Page Turner

Hello, friends! Feathered Arrow Associate, Jodi, here! I had the pleasure of leading this storybook themed wedding last summer and I’m so excited to finally share all the details with you. If there’s one thing that I’ve always treasured, it’s curling up with a really good book. So when my clients, Emily + Jeff told me they are huge bookworms and wanted to incorporate it into their wedding design, I was hooked! And friends, you know how much we adore a colorful wedding here at Feathered Arrow. (Check out some our favorites here, here and here!) So prepare to fall in love with the mix of beautiful colors this wedding has.

“Books Are Uniquely Portable Magic”

There are so many pieces I loved about this wedding. From the library card themed escort board (similar to this wedding), to the handmade book shaped card box, the delicious details are everywhere. But the real artistry comes in the form of table runners made entirely out of book pages! This entire wedding was a labor of DIY love with the support of all their friends and family. It’s so special that guests who helped make this storybook themed wedding a reality were able to see their hard work cohesively brought together.

Emily + Jeff sourced used books from different thrift shops around the Los Angeles area for weeks! They scoured looking for colorful binds and captivating titles to add to their huge collection for décor. Every table used books as a centerpiece base and we added stacks of books to the staircase leading to the altar. Because the rest of The York Manor is all white, the books and floral arrangements really popped! Additionally, it was so fitting that there was a blank bookcase behind one of the bars so we could decorate it with additional books and flowers made with book pages. It’s a small detail but so important!

Once the upstairs party wrapped, guests were able to move downstairs to the basement of the York Manor where a secondary bar kept the party going but the noise level down. It was an epic party!
