The search for your perfect wedding venue can be a stressful one. It locks down your official wedding date, and sets the limit on how many guests you can actually invite and sets the outline for your budget. I’ve created some tips + tricks for your venue search before, but it made me realize there is so much more information you need! What Is Included In The Base Site Fee?

One of the first questions to ask while searching for your wedding venue is what is included in the fee. This will help breakdown a list of items like are rentals included or what is the cost of any upgrades. If you’re open to another date, consider asking if there’s a difference in fee between a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. (Once you have the answers, don’t forget to update your wedding budget spreadsheet to keep you on track!)
What is the Cancellation or Postponement Policy?
We all know how unpredictable life can be. Sometimes things are just out of your hands but you want to be able to regain some control in the planning process. Make sure you fully understand what the policy is to postpone or cancel your wedding plans. For example, is there a fee every time you may need to postpone? This is a great time to lean on your wedding planner to pour through contracts.
Is There a Noise Ordinance/Cut Off Time?

You may be surprised to learn that every venue varies in how long they’ll let you and your guests’ party. Especially if it’s an outdoor venue, they may have to adhere to city ordinances regarding noise level and a curfew so they don’t disrupt their neighbors. Some venues have an area where you and your guests can have an after-party to keep the celebrations going!
