Here’s Why You Need A Wedding Website

Hello, friends! Wedding season is kicking into high gear + we could not be more excited! With so many moving parts in the planning process, it can be easy to become overwhelmed. If you’re looking for ways to help streamline the process for both you and your guests, then you’ll definitely want a wedding website! Below are a few reasons why I think they are so beneficial to couples:
Share Your Story
Having a wedding website is a great way to share your full love story! A wedding is a time when people from all different parts of your lives will come together in celebration. However, some of them may have only been present for certain parts of your journey together. Imagine the stories you share with your best friend from high school vs with your co-worker who introduced you to your future spouse. A wedding website tells your guests exactly who you are as a couple. And guests love reading about how you two found one another. Plus, you can share your full engagement photo gallery!
Introduce Your Wedding Party
This is always so much fun for me to see with my couples! I love reading the stories of how each person in the wedding party has inspired the couple. Similarly, to your love story, there may be friends or family members who don’t know every member of your wedding party and the role they played in your world. Introduce them on your wedding website. Bonus points if you can find funny photos of you two together!
Get Guests Excited
A wedding website is an indication for guests on what to expect on the big day. You can create a funky, humor filled website or keep things crisp and classic. The sky is the limit these days with your wedding website design. You can add interactive elements, send updates + reminders to keep guests entertained and excited!

Quickly Send Updates to Your Guests
Wedding season last year definitely taught us that things can change in a heartbeat. Thankfully, things seem to be improving, but it was helpful that couples could easily post updates for all their guests. This is helpful for any planning situation. Maybe it’s a change in weather, or something bigger like a change in date. Or, if you don’t have every single detail laid out just yet, such as hotel blocks, a quick update to the wedding website will easily keep guests in the loop.
List Your Registry
One great use of a wedding website is to list where you’re registered for gifts. Since most gift registries are online these days, you can seamlessly add links on your website to direct guests. If guests can find this information easily, it can also help ease any awkwardness around asking for gifts. FAQ
You will get a lot of questions leading up to your wedding and a wedding website can really help answer ALL of them. Adding a “Frequently Asked Questions” page is such a great tool for couples. Trust me, being able to direct guests to this page will help lower your stress immensely. A few questions we would consider adding to this page include:
- What is the best way to get to the venue?
- Will there be valet or free parking at the venue?
- How do I find a shuttle?
- What is the dress code?
- Can I bring a +1?
- Are kids allowed?
- When should I RSVP by?
- When should I book my hotel room by?

Suggest Local Activities
Whether you’re having a destination wedding, or there are out-of-town guests coming to the big event, use your wedding website to give guests ideas for entertainment. List your favorite restaurants, bars, museums or other hot spots. You could even send guests on a scavenger hunt of all your favorite date places! Guests will appreciate the recommendations and can explore at their leisure.
Hotel Accomodations
In addition to local activities, use your wedding website to list available hotel accommodations for guests. Especially if you have a hotel block, list the hotels, how many rooms available, the nightly rate and the name the block is under. Even if the guests are all local, guests may request to stay at a hotel nearby.
Collect RSVPs
Most wedding websites have the ability to gather your RSVP list, and even your guests’ dinner choices. While we love a good stationery set with beautifully handcrafted invites, taking advantage of the digital tracking has many perks. Mainly, it’s easy on the budget and an eco-friendly alternative to snail mail. And if your guests are all tech savvy, responding online is very convenient for them!
