This Laid Back Couple Turned Traditions On Their Head
Hey, friends! I’m so excited to share this latest wedding with you because it brought me back to one of my favorite spots, The Ace Hotel! I love the desert and planning weddings there is always so much fun. Especially when you have a laid back, easy-going couple like Courtney + Zach whose biggest goal for their wedding was simply to have fun!
Keeping It Cool In The Dessert
Leaning on the modern décor of the Ace Hotel, we brought in a large felt board to use as their welcome sign and then flipped it to be their seating chart during cocktail hour. (Bonus that it’s reusable post nuptials!) For their wedding ceremony, we used white modern block structures draped with stunning florals in soft purple, blue and green tones. For the reception, we kept the décor minimal and modern with smaller floral arrangements, white chairs and clean neutral linens.
Making New Traditions
I always remind my couples that their wedding day is about them, and therefore, their wedding style should be a reflection of who they are! I love how Zach and Courtney really embraced that, and decided to put a spin on “typical wedding traditions”. For example, both Courtney + Zach wore white from head to toe. Additionally, Zach and Courtney carried a matching bouquet in lieu of wearing a boutonniere. Lastly, both parties stomped on glass to solidify their union (similar to this couple!) Little details like this are great examples of how to express yourselves fully on such a momentous day in your love story.
Congrats Zach + Courtney! If you’re interested in getting married in Palm Springs or Joshua Tree, check out some of our favorite spots here and here! Then contact us on our homepage here + let’s set up some venue tours!
